Mindscape
A downloadable artwork for Windows, macOS, and Android
Mindscape is an opportunity, if you want, to wander around the inside of my head. If you click on things I'll try to tell you what anything means to me.
This virtual world includes multiple objects scattered over an imaginary landscape and fractured interiors, which together in some way represent what is inside my brain. Each digital model is a distorted representation of objects I own, was given or inherited, have made, or have meaning to me. My brain is just one example - every person’s brain is full of stuff.
As an artist I am interested in how digital objects can have meaning attached to them in similar ways that physical objects do. I have been exploring through my recent project what objects can mean to people and whether they can express a person’s memories, relationships, and character. I'm interested in the place of imaginary worlds in our lives and societies.
For those interested, the virtual world is constructed in Unity. Some of the digital objects have been hand-drawn in VR using Gravity Sketch or Masterpiece VR. Photogrammetry of objects from my real world were made using Agisoft and I used Maya for general tidying and whatever else was needed.

interesting game but I kept falling off the edge of the world lol
still one of the games that makes itch worth exploring though
thanks so much. Did you manage to get through the 3 spheres, through the oil painting into the tree fern forest?
yep
Always pushing new frontiers, I love the map taking the trip to Australia and the historic log book. The voice over and narration is cool.
Genuinely fascinating. The sound design of the environment is particularly excellent, and sets the perfect ambiance for a very personal yet otherworldly experience
Thanks, I was really pleased with certain features I put in that people probably won't notice, so glad you liked the sound. In the treefern forest each tree is playing a melody or a harmony but the loop is a different length, so the music should nearly endlessly vary
